In Matthew Chapter 10, verse 7, Jesus sends his disciples out on their first mission trip, with his definition of what the Kingdom of Heaven is:

• “As you go, preach this message: The kingdom of heaven is near. Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.”

In Matthew 28, and in Mark 16, Jesus made it very clear that the job of doing this into future history was that of the disciples, and that he would enable all who do it with the power of the Holy Spirit. His words “All authority in heaven and on earth is given to me…” were also passed down to his followers to come when he said in John 20:21:

• "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you."
